If at the top or bottom floor then the lift might have over-travelled.
If the lift is at an intermediary floor then the lift may have a technical fault with the drive systems. In either case a technician will need to attend.

Your lift might be performing a reset. The lift might need to reach a floor fully to reset its positioning. You could try holding the button until the lift carriage makes it into a floor level. This process works with the following lifts; Cibes A5000, Aritco A7000, Motala, Stannah Midi Lift, NTD Lifts, Gartec, Kalea, Dalby, Nami Lifts.

Platform Lifts are generally used for commercial transportation as well as wheelchair access. Base Lift Services offer training and demonstration on how a platform lift can be loaded and operated safely and without injury or causing damage to the lift equipment.

Platform lifts in the commercial sector where the unit experiences high activity levels should be inspected a minimum of 6 times annually.

Platform lifts installed in the home and commercial units with lower activity should be inspected a minimum of 4 times annually.

Base Lift Services carry out an Examination Test every 3 years on platform lifts, and will issue a Certificate of Compliance EE3 to the owner of a lift to provide comfort that their lift is safe for use.

Most platform lifts have a system on the lowest landing door canned a door blocker system.

On releasing the lock to open the door, switching is activated which informs the platform that someone is in the pit at the lowest level and any movement could be a health and safety issue. This safety vlock out device ensures that the lift platform cant drive down until a resert is performed and each manufacturer has their own reset design method. Base Lift Services specialist engineers are trained to perform such resets.

Emergency lift door opening keys are often used when servicing a lift, cleaning or when a passenger has become trapped for some reason.

Base Lift Services propose a single phase power supply where possible for our soft start and soft stop drive systems.

Typically 240V, 1 phase, 50hz, 20A rotary lockable isolator externally positioned at minimum height 2200mm and within 500mm of the electrical cabinet.

Base Lift Services carry out the electrical supply works for the avoidance of doubt. Our platform lift specialist engineers are qualified to electrical national certificate level.

At Base Lift Services, each site and unit are assessed individually to consider their commercial or residential capacity. Having calculated the traffic use and daily running use of each lift we would usually put it down for a quarterly or 6 monthly service visit, with the busier commercial units requiring a higher frequency of service. For example, a laundry lift in a hotel will do a lot more work than a residential homelift. There are many brands of lifts, here are some of the most populare ones: Stannah Lifts, Ascenseurs Gartec, Ascenseurs Cibes, Ascenseurs Pollock et Ascenseurs Aritco to name just a few. Our technical department study the on site log cards of each lift for past faults and issues and will adjust the service package accordingly to offer the most reliability in each case.
